CLAT-Common Law Admission Test

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programs (LL.B and LL.M).
The first CLAT Core Committee consisting of Vice-Chancellors of the seven participating NLUs at that time decided that the test shall be conducted by rotation in the order of their establishment.

Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in 2008.
Now there are 14 participating NLUs and following the practice the seventh Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be conducted by the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2015.

CLAT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:
For UG Programs:
Applicants must be passed by Higher Secondary Examination or Intermediate or its equivalent examination from a recognized University with at least 45% of aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates).
Applicants who are pursuing for the qualifying examination are also eligible for the examination.
Applicant must be below 20 years as on 1st July, 2015 and 22 years in case of SC/ ST/ PH as arranged by their respective university.
